Duquesne arrives at the O’Rena having beaten up and taken all the lunch money from their previous opponents. Now, they haven’t exactly played UCLA and Memphis, but they still have been crushing teams playing a similar up-tempo style that OU is trying to perfect.
Erik Kangas is still out and while Dan Waterstradt should see minutes, I expect them to be more limited than usual. Keeping out of foul trouble (especially OU’s backcourt) and getting the Grizzlies’ bigs to hang with a talented Duquesne frontcourt will be more important than usual.
I’m hopeful, but this isn’t going to be easy. Here is the stat breakdown of tonight’s two teams courtesy of the Basketball State. I think Mario’s got the call on 1310 AM and WXOU is on the scene as well. (If the opportunity presents itself, I may pop back in here and post something during the game.)
